A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Katie — a content strategist and writer who’s passionate about combining creativity with thoughtful strategy. I started my journey with a personal healthy living blog and grew that passion into a content marketing career spanning more than 12 years

Originally from a small town in Illinois, I relocated to sunny San Diego, living there for six years before ultimately returning to the Chicago area to be closer to family. I currently live in Carol Stream, Illinois, where I work full time in a remote capacity.

A few things I enjoy outside of work:

• Getting outside to enjoy some fresh air and nature
• Spending time with my husband and two kids
• Tackling DIY projects that usually spiral into bigger adventures
• Growing a collection of houseplants that tests the limits of my windowsills
• Playing board games with friends (bonus if they’re word-related games)

Professional Background & Goals

For more than 12 years, I have dedicated my career to content marketing for healthcare professionals. Originally focused on copywriting, my experience gradually led to more editing work, in-depth content strategy, and advanced search engine optimization (SEO). Many of my professional skills are built upon a foundation of writing, which naturally progressed to my interest in search engine marketing.

Over the years, I have honed my skills as a content writer and SEO strategist, transitioning to a leadership role within my company. Being referred to as “a strong pillar for not only the writing department but also [the company],” I take pride in teaching my colleagues how to effectively write and plan for their clients. I have also spearheaded my team’s adoption of AI tools like ChatGPT, driving improvements in content quality and efficiency.

In addition to guiding strategy, I enjoy the challenge of creating high-quality content and offering evidence-based suggestions for improving website performance. As I personally implement the latest SEO best practices through my own content efforts, I am constantly improving upon my own skills, furthering myself as an authority on the topic.
